Some communities seek to build or renovate affordable housing to tackle local needs themselves – developing a community asset which they can manage for the benefit of local people. This can be more complex than working with housing associations and is likely to require a large investment of volunteer time. However, it can allow a more tailored and flexible approach to the needs of local people and, in some cases, help develop a long term income stream for the community.
At Rural Housing Scotland we specialising helping rural communities develop affordable housing. If you want to find out how we can help you contact Derek at firstname.lastname@example.org.
