We work directly with rural communities in Scotland who are looking to improve affordable housing provision in their area.
Over the years this work has included helping communities understand the potential for housing in their community; assess housing need; engage with local people and stakeholders; access land and funding; develop community-led housing initiatives on their own or in partnership with others; and manage the housing they develop. More recently, we have been exploring new ideas to address wider rural housing need, with initiatives such as Smart Clachan and the development of a Land Matching service.
We aim to engage with community representatives, linking them and building partnerships with the key public, private and third sector bodies which need to work together to build homes and infrastructure.
